Asides

Don’t lose your mind over minor stuff.

Why is that people seem to lose their minds over something that doesn’t truly impact them? A sports injury, celebrity gossip (don’t get me started on gossip), a minor change in things – all things that seem to set people off these days. These things are typically life or death, just minor things in life that really don’t change anything. People tend to overreact to anything now, and not see how it will really impact them.

Disconnect

It pained me to see so many people “tethered” to power sources at a festival I was at over this weekend. Have we as a society become so addicted to our phones? I know that at a festival you are trying to get  in touch with people, but I don’t think that people should be using them so much that you have to keep charging them. People should disconnect in those things. You just can’t let life pass you by.

Over Teching

I guess I don’t fully understand the hype over smart watches. I just feel that they are just going to make us more dependent on technology and make us less social. There is a lot we can get out of technology, but we can’t let it take away some of the skills we need to develop. Technology is a tool, not a crutch. We are also getting too connected at times.

Don’t Just Take The Easy Road

The easy way isn’t always the best way. If the easy way is just doing the same over and over again, there is no opportunity for change. There is nothing that can happen without some risk. You have to take risks and have faith that the best (which isn’t necessarily what you think is the best) outcome will happen.
