Tricky spammers…
Oh those tricky spammers – they know ways around the lack of comment writing places here. But they won’t show! I have prevented comments from showing! Ha! Fooled them! Oh, after this, comments will NEVER be back.
EDIT: I wonder if the upgrade to the latest WP Nightly Build will fix it or not. I may never know.
And orange should be banned for being the “color of majority” on NFL uniforms. It doesn’t work well in Cincinatti, Chicago, and most definetly Cleveland. Look at those monstrosities Da Bears are wearing today.
Firefox 1.0 Released
Firefox 1.0 has been released. Mozilla.org is being hammered with traffic. Kevin Rose
has posted some links to get it that aren’t swamped.
The RIAA Strikes Again
Well, the RIAA has issued another round of lawsuits, and Someone from UW-Oshkosh is on the list
. I guess it was only a matter of time before it came here. I don’t know who, but I would think it is an older student because of the timing.
For the record – I don’t file swap. I legally download music on iTunes for use on my iPod.
Halfway to Christmas
6 Months to Christmas! And there is a big exploit of IE. Javascript is being added to pages on sites Microsoft’s IIS web server. My suggestion: download and use Mozilla Firefox. Mozilla renders pages better anyway, IMHO. whattheanvil.net is not affected. Some big sites have been compromised (eBay??) but the identity of those sites are not being released.
whattheanvil.net Update Of The Day! I have removed the Summerfest stuff (not doing what I thought it would) and the MoBlog thumbnail (sometimes too slow).
I've made the switch.
I have switched from Internet Explorer to Mozilla Firefox. No more worring about sidebars popping up on me or (for now) an external pop-up blocker. Some sites look better in Firefox than IE and vise versa. I also now have a projecting atomic clock. It projects the time on the wall/celing… It’s kinda of cool.
The new G4techTV is only a couple of weeks away. Hopefully, things don’t get screwed up.
Tripod offically stinks!
I’m glad I got out of there. In Internet Explorer, Tripod now opens the Search Sidebar. Here’s an example. More reasons to use Mozilla Firefox as a browser. Or to not use Tripod.
Arrrrrrgh! Happy Pirate Day!
There is actually such a day. Wow! Since it’s Friday, the update on the TRL site will probably not happen until tomorrow. I don’t know.
I had some problems getting to some websites. However, I was able to fix it without having to destroy anything. I don’t understand it – but I don’t care.
Tuesday and Thursday – the recap smay not happen. I have to see how things work out and if I am able to head to Waukesha (Tuesday) and Hartford (Thursday). Tuesday, if I update and go – I’ll be cutting it close. I want to leave in plenty of time so if I get lost, I can still make it in time. Thursday timing should work out good to do both.
I’m also thinking that the administration has a thing for fire drills on weird special days (like Leif Erikson and Pirate).
Moving The Blog
I’ve decided to use Blogger for the blog and have moved it to whattheanvil.net. There is no direct comment way here – which I like. I have seen how comments have gotten out of hand. And that was in a guestbook I had a while back. Well, happy surfing.
FYI…
Blogger is free. They can host it if that is what you need.
