HYPERWeather Coverage

Milwaukee TV Stations go into all-out coverage when there is a tornado warning is issued. Then they get complaints. I have noticed recently that they are starting to say a disclaimer that they are doing in in the best interest of the public. Serving the public is part of having a license to broadcast. Technically, they are fulfilling part of having a license.

I do have a critique about the coverage – because of how fast the storms are moving, I don’t think that the stations should be using the NWS radar because of the delay in getting the data to the public. The stations I get have their own radars so they don’t have to use the NWS radar. Just my 20 cents (not 2 cents – I blame gas prices).

Favre to many tributes?

I think people are taking Brett’s retirement too Favre (pun intended). I’ve seen 2 stores with messages about it on their signs. Maybe people are taking it too seriously. It’s Football! Come on!

D-Sucks

Uh, yeah, don’t you realize that pretty much any penalty, except offsides, committed by a DB gets the other team an automatic first down? And that they also negate interceptions? Apparently the Packers do not. For how many years have the Packers had this problem? And this year they were the most penalized team in that department? Maybe someone needs to get it into the DB’s heads that penalties prevent you from going to the Super Bowl. The penalties gave the Giants touchdowns and made Brett force the ball down field. The defense is what really blew it for the Packers.

Christmas – at Halloween

So I walked into Wal-Mart last night and I saw that they had their Christmas stuff already out. And now 2 Milwaukee radio stations have switch to Christmas music? What’s up with that? Can’t we wait for Thanksgiving?

St. Valentine's Day is Overrated and Overcommericalized

Yes it is. It is over commericalized. Does anyone know that there is a SAINT in front of the V? And anyway, why do you need a special day to express affection?  Why to you need a special day to get that special someone something special (woah… I need to take it easy on the specials…)? You could do it anyday.

No, I’m not bitter. I just think that one does not need a special day to do those things.

Mike McCarthy expected to be new Packers head coach

And I don’t like it. Here are reasons why:

  1. QB Coach in Green Bay during the Ray Rhodes era.
  2. Former 49ers Offensive Cooridnator.
  3. West Coast Offense. I think it is time for a change. I am willing to accept Favre’s retirement.

To me it seems like he is being brought in to develop Aaron Rodgers (or someone they draft – espically if Leinart is still there at 5 – see the drafting of Rodgers) because he developed Aaron Brooks in New Orleans. Matt Hasselbeck also credits McCarthy for developing him into an NFL QB. Some say he could be the next Andy Reid or Jon Gruden (unkowns making a name for themselves). He does seem to be willing to tell people what they are doing wrong. I don’t like it. I don’t think there will be enough change.

TO Won't Be A Packer

TO will not become a Packer. I can’t see Ted Thompson willing to sign him. He passed on Freddie Mitchell and I can’t see him taking a chance on TO, or spending the money for him.

Eletronic Signing

Why do the touch-type screens that you sign on when using a credit card at some stores usually have the signing area at the top? Why not at the bottom? The signatures are sloppier when they are at the top because you can’t touch the screen!

Site changes coming sometime during Spring Break. There might be more changes than the logo.

St. Valentine's Day is Overrated

Yes it is. It is over commericalized. Does anyone know that there is a SAINT in front of the V? And anyway, why do you need a special day to express affection? Heck, if the weather was as bad as it was this morning, I would have cuddled in front of a roaring fire anyway.

Now there are circumstances where I would feel differently about today…

Randy, Randy, Randy

Randy Moss, what was that for? Pantomining something that would get a big FCC fine? That celebration was inappropiate. A $5,000 fine is nothing for a football player. The fine should be at least $100,000 – anything less won’t affect a football player making the minimum. He can be suspended for the next game under the excessive celebrations rules put in place in the offseason. Will he? I don’t know. Should he? Yes. That was bad. TO’s celebrations are pure fun and not out of control. Randy is out of control.

And so is Randy Johnson for shoving a camera today. Fear the wrath of the New York media! Now they may leave Chad Pennington alone…
